One of the dA denizens pointed it out to me. :)

Hey, anyone here watch Bleach? I /swear/ I just heard a familiar voice from FMA, but IMDB isn't backing me up. It's in episode 43...the one minion who's talking to the Captain right after the firebomb goes off sounds /exactly/ like Ed! And I'm rarely wrong about these things: voice is how I identify people!

Well...if anyone does know, I'll have to wait until Easter to find out, as I'm about to disappear for Lent...Fear, anger, and hate lead to the dark side. Despair holds one there. -Luke Skywalker (ROTJ AU)

See you in 40 days, PJ!

And I am afraid I don't know... sometimes voices, even familiar ones, can sound freakishly similar, especially if you don't have a face to go with them... :/

Anyone know how to keep my cat from tearing up my furniture? lol...

I am about halfway though both the Pretties and Sea of Monsters (I am shifting from one to the other every few chapters), and they are sooo good! It is so refreshing to read something so invigorating. (:

*claims the first sig NOT to have a link in it* HA!
5.

I thought that Vic did one of the voices on Bleach already? He’s Ikkaku, isn’t he? I’m pretty sure he is…Alayna can probably back me up on it through, she’d know more than I do. However, sometimes VA’s (voice actors) can double-up on little roles like that, extras and such (Soldier A…Soldier A…the unsung hero of anime! Hip hooray for Soldier A, he only has one line but saves the day!) if they want to or if the director needs them to. When Vic was in Ouran High School Host Club, he was Tamaki, but according to Caitlin Glass he also did the voice of a dog in one of the episodes…

...And with that voice actor/anime mini-rant, I return to the site! XD How is everybody?

Ikkaku, the bald one, is Vic, yes. Impressive, though, Ari, I didn't know you watched Bleach.

...ha.... the filler in episode 228 is amazing.... Byakuya, Rukia's dramatic older brother, blowing up a pool with cherry blossoms, wearing purple shorts, and building a sand castle of a waving cloud. And being completely in character. Don't think it's dubbed that far yet, but anyone who likes Bleach, it's EPIC. If you're ever sad, it's garenteed to cheer you up.

Also, anyone seen the new FMA brotherhood dub? It's out, but I can't find it online. I know it's on TV, though. Vic is amazing, of course. But they replaced Aaron DIsmuke as Al... so it's not the same.

So, what's new with everyone? I'm seriously missing this forum and want to revive it.

As I type this, I'm watching "Merlin" on the Syfy Channel. I'm really liking it so far, and not just because of the pretty English accents.I've also really gotten into the TV show Bones lately, about forensic anthropologist Temperance "Bones" Brennan and her partner at the FBI Seeley Booth. It's simply awesome. In other news, I just finished a HUGE English paper comparing Invisible Man by Ellison to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but I had so much more fun reading Alice again than I did writing the paper. Did anyone see the new Alice movie? I did, twice, once in 3D, and it was amazing. Anyone else have any thoughts on it?

Um...what else. Spring break officially began when I got out of school today, so I'm looking forward to a relaxing week off.

And...it's almost Easter, which means we get Phantom Jedi back! :-)

So, what's everyone else been up to?

Lottie by Mascii
10.

I’m missing this forum too!

Ooo, I’ve been meaning to start on that show. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Plus the guy who plays Arthur is very, very pretty.

I did see the new Alice movie! Once in 3D and once on my computer (I downloaded a cam version). I thought it was great, but it could have been an indie film with great graphics and it wouldn’t have gotten any attention. I think the graphics and the performances of all of the actors (especially Johnny and Helena. You really can’t blame Tim Burton for casting them in everything because they are so amazing in whatever they do) really made the film.

Spring break ends on Wednesday for us. I can’t believe it’s already almost over! I hate school with a burning passion. Speaking of, I just finished choosing my subjects for the IB Diploma. English HL, Math SL, Theatre HL, Economics HL, Spanish SL and Bio SL. And of course Theory of Knowledge and then Show Choir instead of Study Hall. I’m a bit nervouse but I know I can do it because Math will be such a breeze because I was in Honours this year (I would have taken HL but I didn’t want to do 4 HLs) and I’m actually good at the rest of my subjects. And plus, 93% of upperclassmen in our school do the IB Diploma so it can’t be that hard, at least with the preparation our school gives us.

YAY the forum is back!

KC, want to start another interaction with Drake with me? : DDD Anyone, anywhere is fine... just bear with me since I start back to school next week, teaching fulltime, so might not respond as quick as I want. :/ But I do miss RPing with Drake here!! Let's do this. haha (:

Happy Easter, everyone!! ^_^

I saw the new Alice movie and it was so awesome <3333 I think Carroll would have been proud of it. Actually. I can't see 3D, though, so regular is fine with me. (:

Merlin lost my interest by like the third episode, but then, I'm not a big TV person... Glad you like it, though!

IB sounds ferociously intense... I wish you luck and such! I think you got it... (:

I graduate the day before my birthday. Had an interview at a local private Baptist school on Monday... I didn't feel too confident afterwards (I had misunderstood a question and rambled too much when all I needed to say was "one on one conferences"....) but I would LOVE to work there... have several other apps out.... and two fairs to go to... we'll seee.....

I was actually hoping to get to try out my new charrie in Fallbrook but an interaction with Drake sounds great too! With Florence at the Square? I’ll make the first post! It’s okay if you can’t reply promptly because I’ll be pretty busy next week too.

That’s so cool, GG! Graduation is like the best birthday present ever! Good luck with your job applications – I’m sure you’ll get a great school

Happy Easter!

Jeez, you guys, this place has become a zombie or something. No, a vampire. Traditional vampires, that occasionally tear out of their graves at night and try to get revenge by eating their loved ones. It’s like that. An occasional visiting, trying to get things back to NORMAL, but not quite alive again. :P

What we need is something to get everyone posting something somewhere and interested in the same things again. Any ideas? Like a writing contest or a RP party or a game or something?

My Dorky Diner Boy
13.
...I'm baaaaack!

Happy Easter, everyone! It's been a long 40 days, let me tell you. Spent six hours at church today as I was the designated page-turner for the organist, meaning I was there for all three services. Didn't mind, though.

I haven't seen Alice, but I did see Avatar. Pretty movie, kinda blah plot. And I've been watching a lot of anime. Lots. Like all of Trigun, 20+ episodes of Bleach, and more. By the way: if you want FMA: Brotherhood subbed, try AnimeFreak. They're usually pretty good about keeping up.

Hmm...writing contest might be fun. I haven't seriously written anything in a very long time.

Christ is Risen!Fear, anger, and hate lead to the dark side. Despair holds one there. -Luke Skywalker (ROTJ AU)
14.

A writing contest does sound fun! Maybe a creative non-fiction contest! I’m really into that right now. There’s this community on livejournal called intoevenings that’s all for creative non-fiction and it’s really cool. I actually recently posted something there. It was pretty wrenching to write since it was so personal but it was very cleansing.

School starts in two days >.< I really do not want to go back – it’s getting more and more stressful. I can’t imagine what IB will be like!

Spam thread looked lonely, so I will rant.

Hi! My class hates writing, and it is so sad!! D:

I am super excited about my lessons tomorrow and Friday, but Friday is prom day, so everyone's going to be acting up more than usual. Fun, right? :P lol. Well, we are finally finishing the Great Gatsby... I don't have it scheduled for them to finish watching the movie this week, either, but I guess if we have free time we can finish watching it... I kind of don't want to, though, because that's their excuse for not reading the book. My teacher wants them to see it though... I canNOT wait for my own classroom!!

Tomorrow we will play a word association game with the motifs in the novel, write letters in character as Gatsby and Daisy while he was in the military and she was off being a ditz and forgetting him, and finishing chapter eight/nine in class... whatever we don't finish of the book, they have to read for homework, and I KNOW they won't read it for homework, but I am sick of babying them, even if my teacher tells me I have to. >_<

Friday, they are writing their own alternate endings to the novel, and we will have a discussion of the ethics of George Wilson (if I can teach these kids how to DISCUSS without threatening to beat/cut/fight/kill someone.... yes, "murder" is an option on our referrals now.... gotta love inner-city schools, right? :P), and write a short response to the significance of the green light/discuss it. Soooo... maybe movie, maybe not... my teacher usually changes my plans anyway. >.<

I am soooo tired at this point in the semester, and anxious about getting a job (preferably out of this parish, unless I am at one of two middle schools I want....), and have to pay through the nose for insurance this summer (all that healthcare mess won't go through until next year, for the part that would affect me, plus we're taking it from insurers and putting it into lawyers' hands, which is just dumb and I don't like the government saying what I can and can't have done to keep myself healthy, but that's a political rant I really don't feel like starting on, and it's totally cool if you disagree, just don't expect me to be super excited with you. : D), aaaaaand.... um... I have a dumb car. lol. But it's okay... soon I will be graduated and will hopefully have a job being an awesome middle school English teacher!

Part of me wants to be an ESL teacher overseas, but that's a loooong way in the future, methinks. XD

Okay, ramble done.

Prom Friday! I get to go as a teacher. ^.^

*claims the first sig NOT to have a link in it* HA!
15.
Have fun with prom. *shrugs* Not sure what else to say to that. It's been quite a while since I've read the Great Gatsby.

Heh...baby them. I remember one teacher who assigned us a paper and told us that it was due in a week because 'most of you won't start it until the night before anyway.' Which is true for most people, I guess.

Going out of town this weekend for a handbell festival! A weekend of just playing handbells and hanging out with a couple of my anime-loving friends...ah, pure bliss. Until I get back, anyway, and have to continue the job search. Ick.Fear, anger, and hate lead to the dark side. I've never read the Great Gatsby, they read it for 11th grade American Lit and I'm in AP, but my AP Lit teacher (who also teaches Am Lit) loves it, so it must be pretty good. They just finished reading it recently, and watched the movie after they'd turned in their final papers...I think they're reading Catcher in the Rye now. In AP, we're doing One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, which made so much more sense after my teacher explained that the author was on LSD when he wrote the majority of it...

Today, we did this point of view activity in AP Lit where we were partnered up and one person had to describe a picture in a magazine, while the other one drew it. Then the describing people switched while the drawing people stayed, and then they had to describe the same picture. It was all about how we can interpret the same things in completely different ways, with very hilarious outcomes. I love that class.

Prom! As far as I know, I'm going, but ours isn't until May 7, the last day of our exams. Then we get Project Term, FINALLY. This year I'll be taking Adventure Book Club in the mornings and rehearsing for the musical, the Secret Garden, in the afternoons for the first two weeks, and then Intro to Tap Dance in the mornings and more rehearsals in the afternoons for the second two weeks. I CANNOT WAIT, I swear...our prom theme is Underwater. Or Lost City of Atlantis, depending on who you ask. I voted for a Masked Ball, but that didn't win...This boy in my AP Lit class asked this girl to prom by giving her a card he had made with paper cut out to look like a tuxedo (it was PERFECT, too, must have taken him forever) and by giving her a fish. Like, a live, swimming beta fish. It was an adorable way to ask, IMO.

*claims the first sig NOT to have a link in it* HA!
18.
My AP European history teacher just kind of decided to skip over WWII even though the exam is in two weeks. We're still learning about the Soviet Union with no end in sight. In his words, "WWII will definitely be on the AP exam, but...you guys already know Hitler. So we'll skip it." XD I like that time period, but I would say the majority of my knowledge of it comes from historical fiction books.

Speaking of books, everyone should try to check out "The Shadow of Malabron" by Thomas Wharton, the first book in a series called The Perilous Realm. Awesome new fantasy right there, I really enjoyed it. We finished Cuckoo's Nest in AP Lit, the ending made me so angry.

I've watched one (dubbed) ep of the new FMA. IMO, it wasn't that good--it was the fourth one, the one with Nina and Tucker and Alexander (so it was before the point where the original anime began to deviate from the manga). Since I kept comparing it to the same episode in the original anime, it wasn't that good. It seemed very dulled-down to me, in everything from the style of art to the characters and script. Although that may have been just because they cut SO much of Ed's amazing monologue in that episode. And I don't like the new Al, Aaron was better, Although maybe if I were to watch a different episode I'd like it more.

Exams in two weeks...but next Friday, I get to go on a field trip to Chicago! The AP Euro class is going with the AP Art History class to the Art Institute, it's gonna be AMAZING. That makes two field trips for me in two weeks, since I just went on one yesterday. I love school sometimes.

Phantom of Paris: Yeah, the first few episodes are kinda 'meh' compared to their counterparts in the first. Once you hit the divergence, though...hold on tight!

I concur with P_J, I would have smacked the kid too. Or perhaps thrown a book in his/her face...or said something really mean back. Except I suck at comebacks to insults, I can never come up with them on the spot. I think of them days later though...

P_J: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, if I watched some more I might be more interested. Part of my dislike might also come from the fact that I watched it at 12:30 AM, sneaking on to watch it on Adult Swim on TV since I can't get it on my computer...I had the volume on super low and I was pretty tired. XD

Exams soon...we registered for AP exams today. Lit is next Thursday from 8 to noon, and Euro is next Friday from noon til four...Eeep! I'm gonna be dead on my feet after that, and I'll still have prom to go to on Friday. I plan on sleeping the rest of that weekend, probably.

I've watched a couple of episodes but I don't care for it very much. *shrugs* Though the one character that makes me smile is Sesshomaru (I think that's his name) He's InuYasha's big brother and he has this uber fluff thing going on with one of his sleeves. =)

It took me until episode 13 to really start getting into it. Until then, I thought that the title character was just an annoying jerk which really turned me off the series. I'm glad I stuck with it, though: it got much better.
